Applications Open for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme 2026. Applications for NSFAS funding for the 2026 academic year are now open.

NSFAS 2026 Supporting documents

If you have applied for the NSFAS 2026 funding and received a request to submit supporting documents, log into your myNSFAS account to upload the required documents.

Students With Disabilities Must Provide:

A completed and signed Disability Annexure Form, please ensure that the medical report is merged with this disability annexure when you create a file to submit with your application.

Students Must Download the NSFAS 2026 Consent Form:

NSFAS reserves the right to validate all information and details provided by the applicant and parent/guardian/spouse against independent third party data source.

Students Must Download the NSFAS Orphan or Vulnerable Child Declaration Form:

This form is only to be completed by applicants who are under the age of 18 and who are orphans OR, who are vulnerable children in that they have been exposed to abuse, neglect, exploitation, risk of violence and substance abuse.

Other Documents that May Be Required, If Applicable:

  • Retrenchment letter
  • Death certificate/s
  • Divorce Decree
  • Proof of legal guardianship
  • Marriage certificate
  • other documents may be required for appeal purposes,….eg retrenchment letter

Based on the application type, the system will generate a list of required documents for upload.

Closing Date: 15 November 2025

NB: If the date you start the application process and the date that you complete and submit the application are different, NSFAS considers the date you click on ‘submit’ as your application date.
Failure to click on the ‘submit’ tab will result in your application not being processed.
