- Recruitment Description – Key Accountabilities
Generate and interpret data. Support team in the implementation of value-added, scientific solutions under the guidance of project/discipline lead.
Develop experimental protocols for equipment and maintain availability equipment through proactive maintenance strategy.
Execute tasks within time to business and quality requirements; while adhering to SHE, portfolio management, technology governance, IP and other business systems/requirements.
Maintaining method integrity through calibration and validation to ensure data quality
Assisting project teams with non-routine plant sampling, laboratory sub-sampling and sample preparation for analysis
Develop and maintain scientific standard of excellence and expand own understanding in area of technical specialization (e.g., technical literature & user forums)
Participate in the formulation of alternative solutions to business support and product / process development projects.
Ensure adherence to Sasol governance and risk management policies, including safety

Sasol Mining operates six coal mines that supply feedstock for our Southern African integrated value chain. The coal supplied to Secunda Synfuels Operations (SSO) is mainly used as gasification feedstock and some is used to generate electricity. The coal supplied to Sasolburg Operations (SO) is used to generate electricity and steam. We also export coal from the Twistdraai Export Plant to international power generation customers via the Richards Bay Coal Terminal.
ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The general worker will be supporting the maintenance team by proving effective equipment maintenance assistance and reliability while adhering to procedures and also to increase equipment sustainability.
