Check Why Sassa R350 Grant May Payments Have Been Delayed
Payment delays have yet again prevented some R350 grant beneficiaries in Mpumalanga from receiving their monthly payouts. Their application shows a “pending” status.
In response to the issue of delays in the approval and payment of the R350 grant, Sassa stated that the approval process follows a specific verification process to ensure applicants have no other income.
Verification of Sassa R350 grants
According to Sassa, if an application remains pending, it means that the application has not yet been fully verified, according to a statement released on Tuesday. Checking citizenship with the Department of Home Affairs and verifying UIF registration with the Department of Employment and Labour are both part of the verification process. Besides verifying banking details, Sassa stressed that the agency conducts thorough checks to ensure that all requirements are met before approval is granted. As soon as all verification processes are complete, applicants’ application status will be updated to “approved.”
R350 Grant Application Mistakes
According to Sassa, some beneficiaries experienced delays in receiving grants after approval because they failed to provide banking information. In order to ensure prompt payment processing, applicants should provide their bank account details, not just the name of their bank.
The R350 grant was reintroduced in April 2020 to provide financial relief to those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. This program is currently in its third cycle and is available to unemployed South Africans who do not receive any other income.
