The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) has officially opened applications for the Military Skills Development System (MSDS) 2027 Intake.
This is an excellent opportunity for young South Africans who want to build a career, gain professional military training, develop leadership skills, and serve the country.

🎖 About the MSDS Programme
The Military Skills Development System (MSDS) is a two-year contract programme designed to train and develop young recruits.
Year 1

Basic military training

Specialized functional training within the selected Service
Year 2

Deployment to operational units

Practical work experience

Leadership and professional skills development
✅ Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
-
Be a South African citizen (no dual citizenship)
-
Be aged:
-
18–22 years (Grade 12 applicants)
-
18–26 years (with a 3-year tertiary qualification)
-
-
Have APS score of 18 or higher (Life Orientation excluded)
-
Have no criminal record or pending cases
-
Meet medical and fitness requirements
-
Have no visible tattoos while in uniform
-
Be willing to undergo medical, psychometric, and drug testing
(Mathematics and Physical Science may be required for specialised fields such as aviation engineering.)
