YES Internship Programme 2026: 20 Opportunities Available
The Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative is offering 20 internship opportunities for unemployed youth with placements in Vryburg, Rustenburg and Lichtenburg.
This opportunity is part of a national public-private initiative led by the Presidency to tackle youth unemployment and provide young South Africans with valuable workplace experience.
About The YES Internship Programme
The YES Programme provides 12 months of work experience for young people entering the job market for the first time. Successful applicants will be placed within operational departments in the energy sector, where they will gain hands-on experience and develop essential workplace skills.
This programme is ideal for candidates who are eager to start their careers and gain exposure in a professional environment.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this YES internship opportunity, applicants must:
Be a South African citizen.
Be between the ages of 18 and 34.
Have a Grade 12 certificate with:
Mathematics (minimum 50%) or Mathematical Literacy (minimum 70%).
English (minimum 60%) and at least one other South African official language.
Selection Criteria
Applicants must also meet the following conditions:
Must not be studying full-time during the programme.
Must not have previously participated in the YES initiative.
Successful candidates will undergo a recruitment process and, if selected, will be placed within the GEMMA Cluster operations in the North West.
